Wood Packing Restrictions

Implementation Date: September 1, 2004

Wood packaging received after September 1, 2004 will not require a treatment certificate providing that the packing declaration indicates ISPM15 compliance and is free of bark.
Packing declarations may be accessed in (PDF) or (Word) formats.

Additionally, we recommend stating the following on your commercial invoice and bill of lading: All packaging is ISPM15 compliant and is free of bark & dirt.

APPROVED / ISPM15 COMPLIANT PACKAGING:
- cardboard, plastic pallets, plastic containers, plastic crates
- manufactured wood products that have been created using glue, heat and pressure or a combination thereof (examples: plywood, particle board, press-wood, etc.)
- any wood crate, pallet or skid that has the appropriate ISPM15 stamp.

NOT APPROVED:
- all wood packaging that has not been heat treated or fumigated (not ISPM15 compliant)
- all wood packaging that does not have the ISPM15 stamp.
