Effective immediately Brazil will accept wood packaging material from the U.S. treated and marked under ISPM15. Cautionary note: Wood packaging material must be free from signs of live pest infestation. (Notice posted November 4, 2004)
Additionally, we recommend stating the following on your commercial invoice and bill of lading: All packaging is ISPM15 compliant and is free of bark & dirt.
APPROVED / ISPM15 COMPLIANT PACKAGING:
- cardboard, plastic pallets, plastic containers, plastic crates
- manufactured wood products that have been created using glue, heat and pressure or a combination thereof (examples: plywood, particle board, press-wood, etc.)
- any wood crate, pallet or skid that has the appropriate ISPM15 stamp.
